Cancellation Policy

Please read our policies

Our PADI authorized dive center always provides the highest level of service so that our clients are satisfied with their trip and our services. In order to maintain our high level of service and ensure availability, we require a partial prepayment when booking. However, we realize that in life things do not always work out the way we would like and sometimes plans need to be changed. Therefore, we have prepared clear booking and cancellation policies.

Booking a trip

Booking a tour involves making a prepayment in the amount indicated by a company employee. Only a successful payment means a tour reservation. Failure to make a down payment means no booking, regardless of any other arrangements made with company staff. In the absence of confirmed payment, the company is not obliged to organize the tour.

Booking a diving course

If you want to take a scuba diving course, booking a place on the course also requires a deposit. Details of the prepayment amount will be agreed with a member of our staff. If your scuba diving course includes PADI e-learning theory training, access to the training will be sent to your email address after making the prepayment.

Trip cancellation

Since visiting the national parks requires advance purchase of entrance tickets, please be careful when making your reservation as a $50 cancellation fee applies (per person). Please see below for the exact cancellation policy:

  • cancellation up to 48 hours before – refund of deposit less booking fee of $50 x number of people in reservation
  • cancellation of a tour less than 48 hours from the scheduled date of departure – the deposit is not refundable

Cancellation of a diving course

As all PADI e-learning courses require the purchase of a unique and one-time access code, we are unable to accept the return of a PADI e-learning package after booking. However, the registered PADI e-learning course will be assigned to you and you will have the option to complete the training at another time and place. With this in mind, cancellation of a dive course at any time after booking is non-refundable.

Absence from a trip by choice or due to health issues

Any type of water activity comes with the possibility of nausea or mild health problems. Therefore, we advise our clients to take a motion sickness remedy before participating in the tour. However, if you decide not to take full advantage of the tour due to feeling unwell in the ocean, unfortunately we are unable to refund your tour fee.

Failure to appear at the agreed place or time

You need to know that we work within the Marino Ballena National Park and the Isla del Cano Biological Reserve. There are many additional responsibilities and rules that we must follow. One of them is the fixed hours when we can launch the boat and be in the national park. Therefore, all of our tours start at a specific time and must end by 4:00 p.m. If you do not show up at the designated time or location, unfortunately the boat will not be able to wait and the tour will start without you. In this case, there is no refund for the tour.

Cancellation of the tour due to weather conditions

It is important to remember that it rains during the rainy season. This seems obvious, but it is worth taking into account that during the cruise there may be bigger waves or heavy rainfall. The final decision to depart is made by the captain and his decision is final. If we have to cancel the cruise due to weather conditions, you will receive a 100% refund of the amount paid. However, if you decide to cancel due to weather, even though the cruise will take place, the deposit paid will not be refunded. See section – failure to appear at agreed place or time.

Prepare for your trip

Remember that any activity on the water involves some risk and requires preparation. There is no point in taking things on the boat that you definitely don’t need. Car keys or wallet are easy to lose, so it is better to deposit them in our office. Please note that we are not responsible for items that are lost or damaged as a result of the cruise. Please read the text regarding preparation for the tour: how to prepare for a boat tour?
