Cancellation Policy

Our dive center always provides the highest level of service so that our clients are satisfied with their trip and our service. In order to maintain our high level of service and ensure availability, we require partial prepayment when making a reservation. However, we realize that in life things don’t always work out the way we want and sometimes plans need to be changed. Therefore, we have prepared a clear reservation and cancellation policy.

Booking a trip

Booking a tour involves making a prepayment in the amount indicated by an employee of the company. Only a successful payment means a booking of a tour. Failure to make a prepayment means no booking, regardless of any other arrangements made with company staff. In the absence of confirmed payment, the company is not obliged to provide the tour.

Booking a diving course

If you want to take a scuba diving course, booking a place on the course also requires a deposit. Details of the prepayment amount will be agreed with a member of our staff. If your scuba diving course includes PADI e-learning theory training, access to the training will be sent to your email address after making the prepayment.

Canceling the trip

Due to the fact that National Park tours require advance purchase of entrance tickets, please be careful when making your reservation as there is a $30 cancellation fee. The exact cancellation policy can be seen below:

  • cancellation within 48 hours of scheduled departure date – refund of deposit less $30 reservation fee
  • cancellation of the trip within less than 48 hours from the scheduled departure date – deposit not refundable

Canceling a diving course

As all PADI e-learning courses require the purchase of a unique and one-time access code, we cannot accept the return of a PADI e-learning package after booking. However, the registered PADI e-learning course will be assigned to you and you have the option to complete the training at another time and place. With this in mind, cancellation of your dive course at any time after booking will not be refundable.

Absence from a trip by choice or due to health issues

Any water activity comes with the possibility of nausea or mild health problems. Therefore, we advise our clients to take a motion sickness remedy before participating in the tour. However, if you decide not to take full advantage of the tour due to discomfort in the ocean, unfortunately we will not be able to refund your tour fee.

Failure to appear at the agreed place or time

You need to know that we work within the Marino Ballena National Park and the Isla del Cano Biological Reserve. There are many additional responsibilities and rules that we must follow. One of them is the fixed hours when we can launch the boat and be in the national park. Therefore, all our tours start at a specific time and must end by 4:00 p.m. If you do not show up at the designated time or place, unfortunately the boat will not be able to wait and the tour will start without you. In this case, there is no refund for the tour.

Cancellation of the tour due to weather conditions

You must remember that it rains during the rainy season. This seems obvious, but it is worth taking into account that there may be larger waves or heavy rainfall during the cruise. The final decision to take the boat out is made by the captain and his decision is final. If we have to cancel the trip due to weather conditions, you will receive a 100% refund of the amount paid. If you decide to cancel the tour due to weather, even though our tour will take place, your deposit will not be refunded.
