Every diver will think of a deep dive sooner or later. Sometimes a nice wreck is just under 30 meters and you need to undergo proper training to see it. The PADI Deep Diver specialization course will teach you how to properly plan a deep dive and how to manage air. You learn to deal with emergencies as well as the common nitrogen narcosis. This may sound serious, but trust me it’s nothing terrible as long as you know how to behave and act. This is why the PADI Deep Diver Specialization Course will allow you to expand your diving abilities and qualifications to 40m (130ft). The PADI DEEP Diver course is also an introduction and one of the requirements to join the technical training.

Why take the PADI Deep Diver course with Costa Rica Divers?

Deep diving is something that tempts almost every diver. Trying yourself at greater depth, feeling nitrogen narcosis or pushing your limits are just a few of the reasons why you want to do a PADI Deep Diver course. As diving deeper than 30 meters is a responsible task, there are no shortcuts here. Obtaining a license is not going to be easy, and before that, we both need to be sure you know what to do at that depth. If you are looking for good knowledge and experienced instructors and technical divers at the same time, you’ve found the right place. Otherwise, you have to look further.

But why is our diving course different from other diving schools?

With us, you will not only receive good training and small groups of students, but you will also receive completely free of charge:

Deep diving requires a few extra skills and an understanding of the physical aspects of being at great depth. This is exactly what the PADI Deep Diver course prepares you for. You will learn to plan safe diving, manage the air, but most of all you will perfectly understand what no decompression limit (NDL) is. After completing the training, you will receive a certificate entitling you to dive to a maximum depth of 40m (130ft).

We conduct the PADI deep diving course in Costa Rica in accordance with all safety and training standards. The course will start with theoretical lessons, during which you will learn new information about diving physics and potential dangers. Then we will do 4 training dives, during which you will plan and conduct deep dives. We will end at least one of the dives at a depth of about 40 meters.

During the classes, you will prepare not only a diving plan, but also a rescue plan in case of any problems. You will also prepare and use an additional tank that will be placed approximately 5 meters deep to allow you to make a safety stop in case of lack of air in the main tank. We will practice many scenarios that may happen during a deep dive.

We have prepared answers to frequently asked questions about our PADI Deep Diver Specialty course in Costa Rica. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

What will I learn in this course?

PADI Deep Diver is a training that is designed to prepare you to perform deep dives up to 40 m within the no-decompression limit. In order to do such dives and not get into trouble, you need knowledge and skills. Therefore, one of the basic conditions for joining this training is an advanced diver’s license. After completing the training, you will receive a license confirming your training in deep diving.

What equipment will I be using on the PADI Deep Diver course?

The deep dive training entitles you to descend to a maximum depth of 40 m (130 ft). This is also the maximum depth available to recreational divers. Only technical divers who have been trained to perform long decompression dives should go below this limit. That is why we will use standard recreational diver equipment during your PADI Deep Diver training.

Where will I dive during the PADI Deep Diver training?

In our diving center in Costa Rica, we dive in one of the most interesting diving sites, which is Isla del Cano. At least one diving day of your training will take place at dive sites around this island. Depending on the conditions and the season, the training can also be conducted in the Marino Ballena National Park.
