Diving is a great sport and a way of recreation. Each diver starts his underwater adventure with a basic diving course. In our diving center, we conduct courses based on the highest standards of the largest diving organization in the world – PADI. After completing the Open Water Divers course, you will receive your worldwide diving license.

We invite you to participate in the PADI Open Water Diver course in Costa Rica. The diving course consists of a theoretical part, a practical part in the pool and four open water dives. Our instructors have many years of experience and will introduce you to the secrets of your new hobby in a pleasant and understandable way.

PADI Open Water Diver course is the first step to explore the underwater world yourself. In this course, you will learn all the basic techniques, operation of equipment and rules prevailing in scuba diving. The license obtained after completing the course entitles you to diving around the world, to a depth of 18m.

You must be at least 15 years old to obtain an PADI Open Water Diver license. Students between the ages of 10 and 15 will receive a PADI Junior Open Water Diver license.

What to Expect

So you decided to start your underwater adventure. Great! The PADI Open Water Diver course is the first step on this wonderful path. During the course you will learn everything you need to know to safely dive to a depth of 18m.

You will start the course from the theoretical part, where you will learn all the necessary rules. you will do the theoretical part with the help of an excellent e-learning module, which has been prepared in such a way as to provide you with all the knowledge in an accessible way. The advantage of e-learning training is that you can do it anywhere, anytime. After completing the module, the instructor will answer all your questions and concerns. Together, we will summarize the theoretical knowledge and move on to the practical part.

Then there will be time for practical classes in the pool, where there will be time to practice everything you have learned from theory. It is very important to practice everything in a comfortable pool before we jump into the ocean.

The next two days are the dive part, during which we will make 4 dives to a maximum depth of 18 m. The diving courses in Costa Rica offered by our center usually include diving around Marino Ballena National Park. It’s a great place to get to know the underwater world.

After successfully passing all parts of the course, you will officially become a diver!

Obtaining a diver’s license is a great adventure and the beginning of a new hobby. We have compiled some of the most frequently asked questions about the diving course, and you will find the answers below.

How much does PADI OWD course cost in Costa Rica?

All our diving courses are conducted by licensed and experienced instructors. Our equipment is always functional and cleaned and sanitized after each use. We do not take shortcuts in the training program or the safety of our students. Despite such high standards, the price of a diving course in Costa Rica does not differ from the average price in the world. In our diving center you can become a diver for as little as $ 499. The price includes everything necessary to conduct the course and a little surprise at the end of the course. We also have a permanent promotion: 3 + 3 = 7. Do I need experience to participate in the scuba diving course?

Even people who have never tried diving with breathing equipment can take a basic diving course. During the course you will learn all the rules of operation of the equipment and safe behavior under water. Our instructor will take care of everything and answer all your questions. Costa Rica is a great place to take the PADI Open Water Diver course because of the warm and safe waters of the ocean.

Are there any health contraindications for participating in the course?

Everyone attending the PADI OWD course must complete a medical form and answer all questions honestly. Despite the fact that diving is very safe, there are contraindications that exclude participation in the diving course. An example would be a pregnancy during which you are not allowed to dive. If you are not sure if you can dive, it is best to consult a specialist doctor. Our diving center reserves the right to send you for additional medical examinations in case of doubts about your health.
