Have you thought about combining your passion for diving with the possibility of working as a diving guide and getting an interesting profession? This chance comes when you have the PADI Divemaster rank. This degree allows you to work as a certified assistant and underwater guide in diving centers around the world. It also opens the way to PADI Instructor Degrees and allows you to become a Professional Instructor.

The PADI Divemaster is the first professional course, upon completion of which you can work as a professional diver. As a PADI Divemaster, you will supervise certified divers during their diving activities and as they explore the underwater world. It is obvious that as a Divemaster you will have a significant influence on whether these individuals become interested in diving and whether they consider it their new hobby. As you direct your steps towards further education at a professional level, through the Assistant Instructor degree you will be able to take an instructor course and become an Open Water Scuba Instructor instructor.

Why take the PADI Divemaster course with Costa Rica Divers?

We are professionals in diving ourselves and we perfectly understand how important it is for every diver to move from a recreational to a professional degree. From the moment you become PADI Divemaster certified, you will be a professional diver who will set an example for less experienced colleagues. You must be properly prepared for this. At Costa Rica Divers, we do not “produce” certificates, but provide practical knowledge from the life of a professional diver. In this course, you will learn much more than what the course program provides. Each Divemaster who obtains this degree in our center is also to be our showcase. Therefore, we are not making any shortcuts here.

An obligatory element of the PADI Divemaster training is an internship in our center. During this time, you will learn practical knowledge, compressor operation, issues related to boats and their operation, as well as servicing diving equipment. In a word, everything that will be useful for you in the work of a divemaster. We emphasize once again – this is a professional course and obtaining a PADI Divemaster license is an honor that can be achieved after demonstrating knowledge and skills at a professional level.

But why is our divemaster course different from other diving schools?

First of all – our price is a complete price including all materials, dives, equipment rental for the duration of the course, e-learning package, PADI license fees – in a word, everything you need to complete the course. In addition, the price of the course includes freebies such as a T-shirt, logbook, diving compass, diving knife and a signal buoy SMB. Everything you need to complete a PADI Divemaster course and start your professional career.

What to Expect

You are surely wondering what you will learn on the PADI Divemaster course in Costa Rica. The answer is simple. Your skills will be refined to the demonstration level under the supervision of instructors with many years of experience. Your knowledge will be grounded and expanded with theoretical issues, which will also be the basis for completing the instructor course. You will have practical classes, thanks to which you will gain experience in working with other divers. You will become a competent person who can effectively manage the organization, as well as professionally support instructors during the courses.

During your training, you will do the practical and theoretical part. These parts consist of:

PADI Divemaster course – theoretical part

The theoretical classes consist of 12 lectures, a written exam and the preparation of a contingency plan in the event of a diving accident. Theoretical classes are conducted using modern training techniques with the use of a multimedia projector, presentations and a professional lecture. Theoretical sessions are conducted in an interactive way with the use of teaching aids such as textbooks, knowledge tests, workbooks, etc.

PADI Divemaster course – practical part

Practical exercises include program workshops that the Divemaster can lead, workshops on supervising divers during training sessions both in the pool and in open water. These workshops include training divers for the Open Water Diver degree as well as other degrees and specializations. Of course, part of the training will also include practical workshops on supervising certified divers during their recreational dives.

Internship during the PADI Divemaster course in Costa Rica

The internship is a very important part of your Divemaster training. It is during the internship that you will learn practical knowledge in the field of everyday operation and work in a diving center. You will learn how to use customer management computer programs, how to repair and service diving equipment, and how to work with a dive boat every day. It is all part of the daily work of a Divemaster and I cannot imagine obtaining a license without completing an internship.
