What to expect from becoming a Divemaster?

You are surely wondering what you will learn on the PADI Divemaster course in Costa Rica. The answer is simple. Your skills will be improved to the demonstration level under the guidance of instructors with years of experience. Your knowledge will be consolidated and expanded by theoretical issues, which will also be the basis for completing the instructor course.

You will have practical classes, thanks to which you will gain experience in working with other divers. You will become a competent person who can effectively manage the organization and also professionally support instructors during courses.

Here you can see Axel’s honest opinion about our program:

During the training you will complete a practical and theoretical part. These parts consist of:

PADI Divemaster course – theoretical part

Theoretical classes consist of 12 lectures, a written exam and the preparation of an emergency plan in case of a diving accident. These classes are conducted using modern training techniques with the use of a multimedia projector, presentation and professional lecture as well as using e-learning package

PADI Divemaster course – practical part

Practical exercises include program workshops that the Divemaster may conduct, workshops on supervising divers during pool and open water training. These workshops include training divers for Open Water Diver and other degrees and specializations. Of course, practical workshops on supervising certified divers on recreational dives will also be part of the training.

Internship during the PADI Divemaster course in Costa Rica

The internship is a very important part of the Divemaster training. It is during the internship that you will gain practical knowledge of the daily operation and work in a dive center. You will learn how to use computer programs to manage clients, how to repair and service dive equipment and how the daily work with a dive boat looks like. It’s all part of the daily work of a Divemaster and I can’t imagine getting your license without doing an internship.
