Refresh your diving skills with PADI ReActivate™

You love to dive and would like to do it as often as possible, but this is not always possible. It may be that your break from diving is longer than six months. You must admit that it will be a good idea to recall all your skills and make sure that you still feel confident underwater. This is why the PADI ReActivate program was created to help you get back into diving. If you’ve had a long break from diving, be sure to take a quick reminder before jumping into the ocean.

Our authorized PADI dive center provides diving training for all levels and our instructors have many years of experience. They will help you to remember all the rules of diving and operating the diving equipment in a pleasant and stress-free way. You really should do this short PADI Scuba Refresher Program before you jump into the water.

Scuba diving after a long break – how to return underwater?

Long break from diving and would like to get back underwater? Diving season approaching and you'd like to be ready? Take a refreshing course.
PADI ReActivate™ Details

Scuba diving is a wonderful and safe form of recreation. However, you should go through this brief refresher to make sure you remember exactly how to use your diving equipment and what procedures apply to recreational diving.

Anyone wishing to engage in recreational diving must present a scuba license or license number for online verification. Equally important is your logbook with recorded dives. To maintain our high standards of service and ensure your safety, you must provide proof that your last dive was no more than six months ago. If your break in diving was longer than six months, you will need a brief review of the rules, theory and some practical skills.

You can complete the PADI ReActivate™ program through online training and short pool classes, or complete the theory and pool classes on-site at our dive center. If you choose the e-learning program, you can save time by studying while traveling or at your leisure. If you have additional questions, please contact us to find the right solution.

What to Expect on PADI ReActivate™ Program?

You probably remember well from your PADI Open Water Diver course that diving is a completely safe form of recreation as long as you follow the rules. However, in the rush of everyday duties, work and home, something may have escaped your attention.

If you haven’t had a chance to jump into the water for a few months, it’s a good idea to remind yourself of all the basics, which is why it’s so important to practice all the rules before diving into the ocean. It is simply essential for safety and comfort.

Scuba Refresher Program – theoretical part

PADI Refresher training consists of two parts. The first is a short theory to make sure that you remember all the rules and basics of diving physics. You can do this part on your own using a specially designed online training course.

PADI ReActivate in the pool

The second part is a pool exercise using dive equipment and an instructor. During this class you will practice how to use the dive equipment and how to behave during and after the dive. The instructor will also tell you about the specifics of diving in Costa Rica and the safety rules on our boat.

We have compiled answers to the most frequently asked questions about our PADI ReActivate Scuba Refresher program in Costa Rica. If you have any additional questions, please contact us.

Why do I need refresher program?

Diving is a very enjoyable and safe form of recreation. And we want it to stay that way. Therefore, we want your knowledge and confidence to be at the right level when you jump into the ocean. This is not only our standard, but more importantly the standard of the PADI organization. If you have had a break in diving longer than 6 months, the dive center is required to conduct refresher training before accepting you for a dive.

What equipment will I be using on the PADI ReActivate™?

During the refresher class, we will use the standard recreational diving equipment that you have already learned during the PADI Open Water Diver course. There will be no new equipment because the PADI ReActivate™ Scuba Refresher Program is designed to practice the knowledge you already have.

Will I get any confirmation of the refresher training?

Your PADI ReActivate™ Scuba Refresher Program training will be confirmed by your instructor in your logbook. This will include the date of training, scope of training, location of training and instructor details. Of course you can take your refresher training at any training center in the world. If you don’t want to waste time while on vacation, it may be a good idea to take PADI ReActivate before you leave.
