What to Expect on PADI Scuba Course in Uvita?

You have made the decision to take a scuba diving course and want to learn how to be a good diver. The PADI Open Water Diver course in Uvita will allow you to earn your PADI diver license. All basic scuba diving courses consist of three mandatory parts. You must pass each of these parts to get your license.

Diving course – theoretical part

The first part of the course is theory, which is done through e-learning. This has the advantage that you can start the course today and from anywhere in the world. The material has been prepared in such a way as to provide you with all the knowledge in an accessible way.

Practical part in the swimming pool

The next part of your scuba diving course will be a practical class in the pool. Our diving center has its own training pool, so you can practice all the elements in a comfortable environment.

Open Water Dives

The last and best part of your dive training will be to do four dives in the ocean. During this diving course in Uvita you will do all your dives in the Marino Ballena National Park. There are some beautiful dive sites here, but keep in mind that conditions are not always suitable, especially during the rainy season. Therefore, it is better to choose Isla del Cano, which is more reliable when it comes to diving conditions.

Our scuba diving courses in Uvita are designed with attention to detail. Not only will you receive a high standard of training, but also the years of experience of our instructors. Prices for scuba diving courses in Costa Rica can vary due to many factors such as location, time of year and distance from the dive site. How long does a scuba diving course take?

Diving course consists of three parts. You will do the theory part on your own with the help of PADI electronic materials. You can do this at any time, even before you arrive in Costa Rica. Then you need three days for the pool part and four open water dives. These dives take place in the Marino Ballena National Park. So to answer the question of how long the diving course takes – you need three days for the practical activities.

Do I need any experience to take a scuba diving course?

Absolutely not. This is a basic course that is designed to teach you everything you need to know about scuba diving. Of course, later you can take other courses to expand your knowledge. If you are not sure if a scuba diving course is for you, but want to try scuba diving, we also have something for you. The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program will give you a peek below the surface of the water.

Is it possible to take a scuba diving course at another location?

Yes, we also offer a very popular destination, Isla del Cano. It is a beautiful place to visit, even if you are not a diver. We can do the whole diving course in Isla del Cano, so you will have the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful place. If you would like to do an entire diving course in Isla del Cano, we invite you to check out this offer: Scuba Diving Course at Isla del Caño.

Can I change my dives at Marino Ballena to Isla del Caño?

Of course, you can buy an upgrade to your diving course and swap the dive in Marino Ballena for a dive in Isla del Caño. We can also change one dive day so that you can visit both sites during your dive course. Please contact us to discuss the details.

I’ve already started a course somewhere else. What now?

If you have already started your scuba diving course in another diving school, or even in another federation than PADI, there is no problem for you to complete your course in Costa Rica Divers.
