What will I learn in this course?

With our Discover Scuba Diving experience at Cano Island, you’ll learn the basic rules of a scuba diving course under the supervision of a PADI-certified instructor. That includes equipment usage, breathing techniques underwater, and the safety rules that are essential. Your first dive would enjoy a sensation of weightlessness and meet some interesting sea lives as you learn how to move yourself comfortably in water. What equipment will I use?

You will be provided with high-quality scuba gear during your Discover Scuba Diving session at Cano Island: a mask and snorkel for clear vision and surface breathing, wetsuit for warmth, and a buoyancy control device so you can move around easily underwater. Your regulator and tank give you air to breathe, while fins allow easy movement for swimming. All equipment is provided; your PADI instructor will ensure that you feel comfortable and confident using it before and during your dive.

Where will I dive during this experience?

During your Discover Scuba Diving experience, you’ll dive in the crystal-clear waters surrounding Cano Island, one of the country’s top diving destinations. This protected marine reserve is home to vibrant coral reefs, schools of tropical fish, sea turtles, and even the occasional reef shark or manta ray. The dive sites are carefully selected for beginners, offering calm conditions, excellent visibility, and an abundance of marine life, making it the perfect place for your first underwater adventure.

Do I need to know how to swim?

You don’t need to be an expert swimmer, but basic swimming skills and comfort in the water are recommended for the Discover Scuba Diving experience. You’ll be in a controlled environment with a certified PADI instructor, who will guide you through every step and ensure your safety. The buoyancy control device (BCD) helps you float, and you’ll always have support, making it a great way to experience scuba diving even if you’re not a strong swimmer.

What is the duration of this program?

The PADI Discover Scuba Diving on Isla del Caño starts at 6 AM from our dive center. The return time is scheduled for 2-3 PM, depending on the ocean conditions.

Do I have to bring my own diving gear?

No, you don’t need to bring your own diving gear. For your Discover Scuba Diving experience at Cano Island, we provide all the necessary equipment, including a mask, snorkel, wetsuit, fins, buoyancy control device (BCD), regulator, and tank. Our professional team ensures that everything is properly fitted and in excellent condition, so you can focus on enjoying your dive without any worries. Just bring your swimsuit, a towel, and a sense of adventure!
