The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program commences with a brief classroom session where you will learn essential information about dive equipment and safety protocols. Once equipped with this knowledge, you will embark on two dives accompanied by a skilled instructor. During these dives, the maximum depth reached will be 12 meters (40 feet). The duration of each dive is approximately 40 minutes, subject to individual air consumption. Following the dives, you will be presented with a certificate as confirmation of your participation in the PADI DSD program. This certificate can be utilized when enrolling in the PADI Open Water Diver course, allowing your initial dive experience to be counted towards the course.

You might find this surprising, but knowing how to swim is not a prerequisite for scuba diving. When you dive underwater, you rely on scuba gear, including a buoyancy vest, to control your depth and prevent sinking. While swimming skills can be advantageous, they are not essential. It’s important to highlight that individuals with disabilities, who may not be able to swim, can still participate in scuba diving. The PADI Discover Scuba Diving on Isla del Caño starts at 6 AM from our dive center. The return time is scheduled for 2-3 PM, depending on the ocean conditions.
You don’t have to worry about bringing your own equipment because we will provide everything you need. However, if you have your own diving equipment and prefer to use it during the course, you can do so. Our main goal is to make you comfortable and convenient throughout your training.
The diving mask is an essential piece of equipment used in diving. It is worn on the face to protect the eyes and cover the nose. While wearing the mask, breathing through the nose is not possible, but you can easily breathe through your mouth using the diving regulator. The regulator is a specialized device that delivers air from the cylinder directly to your mouth. Breathing through the regulator is similar to breathing on the surface and does not pose any difficulties.
