PADI Divemaster Course

The objective of the PADI Divemaster course is to equip divers with the necessary skills to embark on a professional career in the diving industry. During this course, you will not only acquire the knowledge and abilities to effectively guide clients, but also learn how to respond to emergency situations. Requirements for PADI Divemaster

  1. Have an PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent) certificate. By “equivalence” is meant having a non-PADI certification at the rescuer-diver level. If the applicant for Divemaster provides proof of completion of an equivalent course, he should also provide proof of completion of the first aid course in the previous 24 months. If the applicant does not meet the requirements for the Initial Rescue Skills Assessment, he or she should complete the PADI Rescue Diver course.
  2. Completed the Emergency First Response course in the last 24 months
  3. Have completed and logged 40 dives in the log book.
  4. Provide a medical certificate stating that the applicant is permitted to dive. This declaration should be issued within the last 12 months. The doctor who signs the affidavit cannot be a candidate for Divemaster.
  5. Minimum age: 18 years or older.

What equipment will I be using on this course?

We strive to carefully choose the optimal training locations based on current availability and ocean conditions. It is our general preference to conduct dives at Isla del Caño, which offers exceptional diving opportunities.

How long does it take to complete the course?

Unlike all the previous courses you’ve taken, the PADI Divemaster course does not have a rigidly imposed schedule. The time to complete all the mandatory elements is really up to you and your commitment. However, we can tell you that you need to plan a minimum of one month to complete the course and pass the internship in our dive center.

Do I need to bring my own diving equipment?

As a professional diver with a PADI Divemaster degree, you must have your own diving equipment. However, we understand that when you travel, you don’t always have the opportunity to take all your equipment with you. That’s why we can help you during your course by lending you the items you need.

What kind of certification will I get?

Upon successful completion of the PADI Divemaster course, your application will be signed by the lead instructor and sent to PADI headquarters for approval. If all goes smoothly then within a few weeks you will receive official confirmation from PADI along with your personal PADI Divemaster number. .
